We contribute with over 40 years of experience in security and defense policy, military strategy and international relations.
We are continuously engaged in commenting on international strategic and military developments in national and international media, as well as lecturing on Asian security, international peace operations and Nordic-Baltic security.
Analysis & Advice
More than 20 years of first hand experience in leading and working with security related analysis, we offer independent analysis in defense policy and military development, Swedish and Nordic-Baltic security and strategic development in Asia with a particular focus on the Korean peninsula, China and Japan. Training
Within our area of expertise and experience from manage education and training, we offer a variety of education and training opportunities, ranging from a single lecture to a more ambitious training program, where we can organize the entire training program to best suit your needs. We organize seminars and conferences including to moderate those events.
Exercise Management & Evaluation
Independentviews, has a unique experience in evaluating large and complex crisis management exercises, with both military and civilian as well as national and international participation. Our expertise can be adopted to manage the entire evaluation process or be responsible for a dedicated part of the exercise evaluation. We can offer support and coaching for senior officials in various crisis management exercise positions.

Major General
Mats Engman
Maj Gen (ret) Mats Engman has more than 40 years of active military service. His most recent assignment was as Head of the Swedish Delegation to the Neutral Nations Supervisory Commission, in South Korea between 2015-2017.
He was commissioned in the Swedish Air Force in 1976 and has mostly served in joint and international positions. Among those are two times as a UN military observer in the Middle East, three years as the Defence attaché to United Kingdom and Ireland, Instructor in strategy at the National Defence College, Head of the Intelligence Division and Deputy Director of the Military and Security Directorate and Head of the International Department at the Joint Staff.
His last assignment before deploying to South Korea was as acting Head of the Policy and Plans Department, Joint Staff.
